I insured my boat just in case it fell off my car or it was stolen. I insured it for $3,000 because if I loose it I want to be able to buy one already done, $2,000 wouldn't cover it. I am paying $35 a year with no deductible. I am going through Allstate. The funny part was when I tried to get the insurance my agent wanted the vin #, he just couldn't get that I built the thing myself and I felt it was worth $3,000. My insurance company did insure it up to $1,000 with a $500 deductible, but it only covers theft, not stupidity, but now they do.
