I use the Rob Max method of grinding a sinple house scraper round. A inexpensive scraper with those four-way blades held by a screw. Grind one of the blades round. It's works better than you could imagine. The scraper is also good for getting into those tight bow and stern areas.
I further finish my inside with a 60 grit sanding belt wrapped around a soup can and done by hand.
