Steve, my two cents here, the weak joint in your previous boat had nothing to do with the deck having been bent down to the shear, the glue joint was weak,that's all. I don't think there is much of a pro/con reason for either except for aesthetics. Scoring the plywood and bending it will give you fractured plywood, stitch and glue it instead, the fillet and glass tape underneath will make it very strong, but so will glass under a bent deck.
