BTW one thing I thought of the other day was if there was any way to combine some of the technology from one boat to another. For instance, there has been so much discussion about kayak seats .... my caned canoe seat is sooo comfortable, I wondered if the design could be adapted to work in a kayak??????????????
Also, the next canoe/kayak I will be building is a Wee Lassie for my daughter from McCarthy's book. It is a cross between a canoe and a kayak.
