I just finished a chessie 18 with the creature comfort seat. The fixed end of the string goes through a hole drilled in the hip brace and to the jam cleat mounted on the shear clamp on the other side. Leave about four inches behind the seat and your back will be supported by the seat back and not eh coaming.
