David, I don't think a leaky skirt/coaming is totally a characteristic of the coaming, some skirts fit some coamings better than others. I don't know of any nylon skirt that fits as well as an all neoprene one. Out of all the new types of skirts around I have found that the generic aquaterra neoprene skirt has been the most versatile.
