Having been a raffle winner at The Rendezvous 99 of the plans for Nick's Expedition Single, I have a question:
Which method is best for holding the forms, 2x4, box beam, or the aluminum extrusion? I can get the alum at a good price but wonder what to do about the tapers to fit the bow and stern forms. Cutting the alum does not seem like a good idea. This is a 19' boat and a wood 2x4 seems too weak for this job. The wood box beam does not seem much better. Has anyone built this boat, what did you use?
The alum. extru. is exactly 2x4 and the cutouts in the forms are 2x4, would this make it difficult to install and allign forms?
Any ideas are welcome. a straight boat is more important than a pretty boat to me.
Thanks,
Larry C.
