Hi Mark,
you know if I was to do it, I would build an Alaskan Recovery. I was talking to Robert Morris recently and he reckons he can build one in 3 days. In other words, neat yak for a little time. And when you set the basic parameters, it designs itself.
You should also make a 1/4 scale model first ( I know, I know - but an evenings or 2's work ) to test out the approach, and then give it to your son to play with - he'll love it. Then make the appropriate modifications and yer set.
