With all the talk about custom seats, what about using fewer layers of carbon fiber or kevlar cloth rather than fiberglass. Perhaps a combination of the above three to be more economical than just the CF or kevlar or FG.
For example, I think the typical # layers of FG is somewhere in the range of 6-10. Could you get away with 1 or 2 FG layers, and 1 layer kevlar. Or 1,2FG with 1 layer carbon fiber, or 1,2FG, 1CF, and 1kev?
Why would you want to use both carbon fiber and kevlar? Do they have complementary properties? I was thinking of using 6" or 12" tapes of each of these in my current seat that has 1 layer of FG so far on it.

I don't want a $50 seat or one that is bulletproof. Just one that might be stiffer while requiring less layers than a normal FG setup. Plus it would be cool to have one of the first carbon fiber, glass, kevlar custom seats.
