Mike R. Hi. Hey I appreciate the help on the marilywood. I checked it out at mcBeath, Berkeley and they were about $10 - $12 less than The shop here in Clovis. About $38.50 a sheet. Like you, I will need a game to go to so I can justify the trip for two or three sheets. Nobody else from Morro Bay to Frisco had anything. I guess that Marine Grade Mahogany doesn't grow on trees around here. I also found flberglass tape and cloth ( cut to length ) over in Monterey/Santa Cruz and they have it all. However, I have a problem on the resin. I have been watching the discussions and see that the Epoxy is the best resin to use and from my inquiries, I have seen it in prices from $37.50 a gallon to $90 a gallon. Now, those can't possibly be the same resin, so, is there a variety of Epoxy resins and if so, what do I look for? I understand the Epoxy is a little more difficult to work with..?? Since I am just beginning I picked the Glen "L" Rob Roy to build as a first project, and I have a brother who has done a stitch and glue before, so, I will have some help. Then I was sooking at the Hartley 14 from Clark Craft to do as a second project. It is a bit more difficult I believe, so, I should get a bit more experience. Any ideas on that? I have seen some very beautiful boats and I hope to be able to do the same myself one day. I have experience with cabinets and furniture, so the woodwork should come back to me, but, the glass will be a learning experience. Anyone got any helpful suggestions? I can't wait to get started. Thanks in advance for any help. I see all of the subjects on different mods on boats, but does anyone ever have this much trouble just finding materials?? I'm gonna end up driving 500+ miles and spending a whole day just to get the basics. You would think that with the beautiful coastline and all the lakes around here, that supplies like this would be a whole lot easier to find. Thanks again, in advance for any help You can give........ Rehd
