Careful with that foam!

Hi Steve,

There was a thread on this board a year or two ago about using two part foam for flotation in kayaks. From memory, the consensus seemed to be a concern with the way this foam expands, it ain't just in one direction, but in all directions, and will create a suprising amount of presure inside the ends of the boat. I seem to remember someone being worried that the pressure in the ends of the kayak may cause the two halves of the boat to separate at the ends, especially if they didn't get the tape all the way into the ends.

Perhaps your foam has different expansion/curing characteristics?

I guess the thread is in the archive somewhere, but I don't have time to look right now.
