I'm no help on this one,,, I'd love to be back off the coast of Pt. Reyes paddling in/out of Drakes Estero though. This belongs back on the trips page but had the most fantastic 40minutes when a little seal(seal lion?,I know by now should know the difference) ,40#'s , followed me after I lunched anchored in some seaweed about 150yds away from lots of seals. This guy pops up 15ft away,pops up again closer , we play slow game follow me follow you, swims along towards my boat then turns over sliding under the boat. I gently put my hand down and touch his underside as he goes by. Soft supple fur . next time he goes to the back deck, comes up and pulls the bungie down a bit a lets it pop back,thwap he splashes away, comes back again and nibbles the edge of my blade,testing ,not good to eat, then comes up closer and I can see his whiskers and teeth , those little pyramid like incisors look like they could crush anything. Think I'll keep my fingers and elbows in. Time to go.
