Actually, CA is MOST effective on porous surfaces, but you must use either a medium or thick grade - the thin stuff wicks into the material and doesn't leave enough in the bond. Another great thing about the thick stuff is the ability to use an accelerator - put on the glue, get everything positioned, then spray on the accelerator and it cures in seconds!
I think I might try it after all...
