I also highly recommend the two books recommended by M. Scarborough.
Successfully working with epoxy (NOT the polyester version) is one of the more critical parts of S&G or strip building. The newer epoxy resins are more expensive than the older formulations (think Bondo) but are virtually odor-free and incredibly versatile.
On my CLC, I used "West Systems" epoxy (sold by West Marine), but some other brands that seem popular with other builders include "System Three,""MAS" and "RAKA." All of these brands have web sites with EXCELLENT free or low cost information about fillers, joints, temperature considerations, etc. Also check past message threads on this board for more points on the finer points of working with epoxy and fiberglass. These guys/girls have certainly been an incredible resource for me.
Definitely do a lot of reading before you start. You'll save large amounts of time, money and frustration.
