Has anyone tried this? It would seem to me that this system would not be adjustable to allow for variations in thickness on the strip as it is fed into the first router.
Also, with both routers on the bottom, one side of the bead and cove would be cut on the in-feed, which is the correct way. But the other side would be cut on the out-feed which would cause lots of splintering.
If the routers are side by side, with one on a platform on top of the table and the other underneath with the bit going through a hole, these problems are taken care of. Also, the line up of the cutters is very easy, as they are right next to each other.
If there are any variations in the strip width the bits cut it out, and as the bits are cutting at the same point there is no chance of the strips floating in and out of the cutters. So all the finished strips will have an identical width.
