I anticipated that there would be questions about aqua-set epoxy as it appears in the post on epoxying cedar strip kayaks and canoes. So here is the info on it. Ian

AQUA--SET EPOXY RESIN
MATERIAL Aqua-Set is a specifically formulated multi-purpose epoxy system, totally insensitive to moisture, that will bond and cure even underwater and at temperatures too low for normal epoxies. Aqua-Set is formulated with maximum penetrating properties for use as a sealer as well as a laminating resin for use with glass cloth or synthetic woven fabrics.
Aqua-Set is also an excellent glue for a multitude of substrates and can be thickened to any consistency with a variety of fillers for gluing irregular surfaces or for use as a putty or fairing compound.
MIXING Aqua-Set is a two component epoxy formulation. Thoroughly mix 2 parts resin to 1 part hardener in a clean, polyethylene container, ensuring complete dispersion. For small batches (under 100 mi), let the thoroughly blended mixture stand for approximately five minutes before using. DO NOT blend more than 750 ml of product at one time.
APPLICATION Aqua-Set can be brushed, rolled, injected with a syringe or spread with a squeegee. Thoroughly work the resin into the fabric to eliminate any air pockets that may be present. When using Aqua-Set as a putty or filler, it can be trowelled with a putty knife or other form of spreader.
TIPS - Have all necessary tools, solvents and materials at hand before blending product(s); - Measure components carefully before mixing; - DO NOT mix more than 750 ml at one time as the pot life and working time will be reduced; - Clean all tools and spillage as soon as possible; - In warmer temperatures, pour blended epoxy in a shallow pan to extend the pot life.
CLEAN-UP Spills should be cleaned up with paper towels or rags. Xylene is the best solvent for clean-up, although acetone is also adequate. Brushes and rollers should be disposed of as solvents will not clean them completely.
SAFETY Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear protective gloves, goggles and clothing. Provide adequate
ventilation and wear approved respiratory protection.
