I also used the smaller curved Surform (with handle) to clean up the inside of my cockpit coaming. In the process, I also discovered a fairly new product (at least to me) called the "Microplane" which works much better than the Surform. It's similar to the Surform but the cutting teeth are MUCH sharper and finer which results in more controlled removal of material and less subsequent sanding. I purchased mine at good old Sears, but there's a web site with more selection and information at:
