I mounted my Guzzler 500 on a 1/2 inch board with T-nuts so I can take it in and out if I want and epoxied the board to the buldhead. The pump is mounted about 15 degrees off from vertical and that puts the intake right on the bottom of the boat and the output about 2 inches below the deck. A short extension tube to deck level, an attractive wooden cap and flapper on the deck make it work well and look nice. I build the cap into my custom compass mount.
