neoprene spray skirt modifications

Check at the nearest scuba store, or find one on the internet. Diver's wet suits are made of neoprene, and they frequently get cut, so most scuba stores have small bottles or cans of liquid neoprene for gluing the rips. Ask for wet suit cement.

You could use this for gluing a scrap of neoprene to the spray skirt, but I would personally go for sewing on any attachments or pockets.Then I would use the wetsuit cement on the inside of the spray skirt, and put two or three coats over all the stitches that came through the fabric. This should seal the holes from the thread.

You might get a scrap of clear vinyl from an upholsterer, or a fabric store, and sew that on to make a clear pocket that you could see through.
