Kelly - you're right - a strip of masking tape along the sheer prevents any ooze from sticking to that lovingly prepared hull. I prefer high quality masking tape to duct tape because it doesn't leave a residue to scrub off. That duct tape adhesive is really something. It is impervious to acetone, rubbing alcohol, and vinegar. I ended up using some of that citrus (Goop Off?) stuff to get it off.
