Randy, don't ya just hate that stuff. "IF" you're GOOD and STEADY with a belt sander you could use about 100 grit and take it off with that. That's the best way I've found. BUT, IF you don't feel comfortable with that thing in your hands I wouldn't try it. Stick to the scraper. I like the sander cause the scraper will sometimes lift a little of the grain underneath when it pops the glue beads up. The sander on the other hand will deffinitely dig in on either side of the bead if you tilt it any at all. That's a coin toss. If you don't use a belt sander on a regular basis, I'd stay clear. ????? Sorry If that's not much help. If you have a random-orbital sander you just may be able to take off the bead without digging in to the wood. Hmmmmm, maybe I should have said that first. :(
