I may have mentioned this before but it's such a great story this time of year. A man whose name escapes me now builds traditional Adirondack Guide Boats up by Lake George. It's lap construction with just wood and copper tacks; no epoxy, glass etc. If memory serves, he gets $6500 to $8000 for a new one. When asked how he stores it in winter, he said, "This boat is made to me in the water to remain water tight." At about this time of year, he takes it off shore, fills is with rocks and sinks it in 10' of water. In the spring he waits until the ice is gone, dives down, dumps the rocks, floats it and off he goes. I love guys like this! It may not be the solution for you but you wouldn't bang your head on it everytime you went to the garage. Good luck.
