Commiserations! I was working with some really thick epoxy mixed up by a local guy here in Phoenix. I was working outside in 50 degree weather - got in a hurry and didn't mix the stuff up good enough - and smeared it all over the hull. Luckily the weave of the glass was mostly full. When it was still gummy after a couple of days - I became depressed and blew it off for a while. A few weeks later I came back and scraped it all off with a scraper. You can't really sand it because it just gums up and crawls around. Acetone and vinegar work for getting the last of it off. Be thorough and get it all - nothing will stick to it.
