Since I used square edged strips instead of bead and cove, I had a bit more fairing to do on my wee lassie II. I also had some excess glue squeeze-out that i missed, especially on the inside of the hull where I could not easily see as I wiped up after gluing. I had a couple of 1" planes. I used these, set fine, to take off the glue. One of them, I ground down to a convex shape, so that I could get at the blige areas inside the hull. This was time consuming, but it worked....I had a lot of planing/fairing to do anyway, due to choosing not to use bead and cove strips. I've never had much luck with cabinet scrapers after they get dull, obviously 'cause I didn't know what I was doing when re-edging them (thanks for the information on using cabinet scrapers!). the plane edge seemed more durable than a scraper and I could easily get a good edge on the plane iron. I went at about 45 degrees to the strips/glue drips when using the plane, the same as recommended when fairing. garland
