I've hit 54 mph on a descent on my road touring bike.

Julie,

Bunch of racing buddies were descending from Gold Lakes (above Lake Tahoe) , speed extremely high, vision a little blurry, power bar bounces out of my jersey pocket, makes this skittering sssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhrrrrrr sound across the pavement, disappearing in an instant, low blood sugar and speed leaves a littering memory.
