That is hilarious! There are people that seem to break every rule and still waltz right through. Maybe all the bad ideas cancel each other out and you end up with a contraption that works just fine.

I was at a bike shop checking out the new ones with my girlfriend, and this guy comes in with a bike that you wouldn't take from a garage sale even if it was free! He tells the bike mechanic that he needs a tune up. The mechanic asks him how much he wants to spend. He says, "As little as possible!" So finally the mechanic tells him that to tune this bike up will cost close to $200.00 because of all the problems with it. This will just make the bike ridable and nothing else. The guys response was, "Well, can you fix the front brake?" The mechanic tells him that yes he can fix the front brake but what about the rear one which is missing. The guy actually says, "Hey, that's a good idea! I'll just take the front one off too." He left, no doubt happy that he had got some free advice from the mechanic.

My girlfriend was flabbergasted! She couldn't believe this had happened. (She leads a very sheltered life.) I told her that I dealt with this type of person everyday, only it was their cars they wanted me to remove the brakes from instead of their bikes.

I like to go fast just like the next guy, but one thing that driving like a maniac for the past 21 years has taught me is this; no matter how fast your car is it had better slow down faster than the one in front of you!
