I can only help you out with question 4.
The trick is, find out what jobs she wants done around the house. Of course (as far as she is concerned) it'll just be a coincidence that the tools you need to do her jobs will be the same as the ones you need for your jobs;-) Every Honey Dew patch has a silver lining.
Your not exactly lying to her, as long as you use the tools (in some way) for her jobs.
Well, hell, it's worked for me so far, Though I'm gonna have a hard time explaining why she needs me to buy her a table saw;-)
