In Response To: Storing kayaks overhead? (Mike Plumer)
Hi Mike,
I hang my kayaks up in the garage using a sling made from a 6" wide strip of carpet and a length of clothesline cable.
Start with the carpet the pile side out, fold the carpet ends back 2", "stitch" the 4 layers with some wire (I use coat-hanger) to form a sling. Reverse the loop to turn the pile side in. Add the clothesline cable and a couple of pulleys and hoist away.
Hank
