I asked a similar question a couple of weeks ago, so take a look back, there was a number of responses.

The concensus was that it would be quite good for strip building. Nick's book show's the specific gravity to be comprable to other cedars and the appearance is similar to light mahogany. In my area (San Diego) the Spanish Cedar goes for around $4.00 per foot and western red is around $2.00. I am probably going to use a mix of some kind.
