Thats what I have on my rowboat, one at the stern and one at the bow. I attach it such that the boat wont slide as I lower one end. Use good pulleys and the correct size line for them and it works fine. You can even take the tail over to the wall through one more pulley, and cleat it off out of the way.
Never thought of doing it on a kayak for a one-rope pull. Thanks!
