Provided the kit gets here today, I am beginning my first kayak building project this weekend. I am building an Arctic Tern. I can't wait! Some questions: I have a good friend who built a clc 17 and was not happy with the directions that came with the kit. He felt they did not explain the steps in enough detail. Perhaps this explains why his second clc 17 is still in pieces. He suggested that I read a book about stitch and glue before I start. I've looked for a book on this subject and come up dry. How are the directions for the Arctic Tern? While I'd like to read a book on stitch and glue is it necessary based on the quality of the Pygmy directions? Any general tips for the first time builder? I'm sure I'll be asking more questions when I'm into the project.
Thanks to all for your thoughts.
