Congrat's on your decision to start a kayak. The Tern is a good choice, it was my first kayak, I'm working on #3 now and have the plans for #4. The directions from Pygmy are very good. But if you run into any problems, give Pygmy a call or post your question here. There a several Tern builders on this board. If you want to read a book on stitch and glue, there are at least a couple of them. "The Kayak Shop" by Chris from CLC, and a book by Skip Snaith, that I can't remember the tittle at the moment. Check amazon.com, look up kayak building and then look at similar titles. The problem with these books is they follow a slightly different method than Pygmy uses, but the do help give an understanding to the process.
