I found "The Strip Built Kayak" by Chris Kulszyki (has lots of vowels...:-) ) to be an excellent/mandatory companion book for building a stitch and glue boat. While I haven't yet done a strip built, I did purchase and enjoy Nick's book which has lots of tips/techniques that would apply to any boat building project.

Also, for great information on epoxies/resins/fillers, check out the web sites for West Systems, System Three and RAKA. They have lots of excellent free (or cheap) literature that can save you a LOT of subsequent headaches.

Review and print out relevant tips/discussions offered on this bulletin board. I've learned an incredible amount from this group's collective wisdom.
