Fritz, I am in the process of building my first kayak also, an Arctic Tern. I find Pygmy's instructions and included materials to be excellent. I am a gross novice to wood working, generally work with concrete but that is not a good kayak material. My limited advice, for what it is worth is simple. If you hit a snag, call Pygmy and remember that building a kayak is kinda like eating an elephant; One Bite At A Time. Good luck, see you on the water. Dave
