Apparently teak is an oily wood and that's why gluing it is a problem. You'd have to test some first to see if epoxy takes to it. Epifanes makes a varnish especially for teak (it works for other woods as well) to deal with the oilyness. Given that we apply varnish on top of the epoxy, that isn't a benefit, but I used it on my first kayak because it doesn't need to be sanded between coats as long as you re-coat within 72 hours.
