The problem is that the sand you track into your boat will be harder to get out given the rough surface. Maybe you could just do a patch under your heels, but you'd probably be better off gluing down a foam pad there. It'll keep you heels cushy as well as keep them from grinding sand into the glass. But regardless, I don't think that your feet and sand could do that much to wear down the inner hull.
