Hi Max:

I built Nick's Guillemot Expedition Single without cheating too. The I used only Titebond wood glue. It all held together fine. The hull and the deck will have some flex to them when finished, but before glassing, but they probably will not fly apart when released from the bondage of the staples and nails. I used staples, (lots of staples) sheetrock screws, brads and nails in my assembly process. I did manage to persuade the wood to hold still long enough for the glue to dry, and I didn't have one glue joint failure after all those fasteners were removed.

Paul's advice is right on target. Keep the faith (and remove the fasteners gradually and check as you go).
