Thanks, Tom and Mike. Did put it on --- relatively thinly --- and waited about 20 hours in mild conditions (maybe the 60s F at the lowest). It sanded out pretty well, but I found I needed my random orbital to take it down to its "translucent" state. Then put on a coat of the corresponding paint, but, despite all warnings and intentions, put it on too heavily and got some sags and one area of bad coverage --- must not have cleaned it well enough. So, some more wet sanding and another coat, and it's away for the winter, I'm afraid.
