The theory of evolution never said that we evolved from apes, contrary to popular belief. What it said is that evidence shows that we shared a common ancestor. This would make apes our cousins (how distant is up for debate.), not our parents.

The tree climber to human misinterpretation was put forth by an opponent of evolution to ridicule the theory.

My question is; If Adam and Eve had Cain and Abel and Cain killed Abel, where did all the other people come from? {:o)
