I actually used the Grizzly bits for my strip canoe that i am now finishing. They were the cheapest I could find at the time. They are 1/4" bits. In think that they did pretty well, I did a lot of western red cedar and some redwood, the cedar went through fine regardless of grain orientation, speed of bit, feeding speed, BUT the redwood was a pain, most of the problems I had I feel confident that I could fix next time but there was a lot of tearout and splintering. There was a thread regarding this recently that had some great ideas (ones that I suspect could have fixed the problems). I did use lots of feather boards and that helped a lot as did 16' infeed/outfeed tables (2x12's)
