Well, here I go again.
I've seen thousand of times Nick's book and I can't figure out this almost "metaphysical" question:
Are the little strips used for the recess cockpit
a) glued OVER the body of the ship, like this:
*****************
* * <--- Strip
***************** *******
* <---- Body *******
Meaning that first you cut the hole of the cockpit, then you actually lay the strips OVER a part of the hole, leaving a portion of the strip "flying"
or
b) the srips are edge glued to the body, like this:
********************* Body ** Strip * *********************
Meaning that looks like an even surface from upside.
I understand that I should do this the "b)" way, but it's difficult for me to see how I would staple the strips, one to the other, having the whole thing practically hanging in the air...
Besides, I've read about a plywood alternative. How would I keep this thing in place if the only bond is a vertical edge glue?? It should fall down!!
TIA
Max
