Jorgen, nope haven't tried to do what you are suggesting let alone repair a delaminating strip boat. I guess the first thing to determine is whether re-glassing is necessary to correct the problem. Are there breaks in the glass and epoxy that are allowing water to intrude? Are the "air bubbles" sites for water intrusion? I'm wondering if you have hatches them maybe with that access you might be able to apply a little first aid in the form of sanding out the delaminated areas then patching or if the areas are too big glassing the areas in question. Are the sites of delamination randomly situated or specific to areas of wear, stress or standing water? I would think if the delamination is on the bottom of the cockpit or therabouts then a few square feet of glass would be much easier to install than cutting off the deck reglassing the hull and rebuilding the deck/hull seam. If the whole layer of glass in the hull is suspect I would think that palliative care would be the way to go(fix it up well enough so that it doesn't get worse, sanding glassing large patches, sealing well with a thin epoxy like MAS. THEN save major boat building energy for the next boat. In otherwords,if there is something wrong on the inside that allows for delamination is there also a similar problem pending on the exterior?
Just out of curiosity, how well sealed is the glass on the inside and where is the delamination?
