Hmm..a marketing project... for my graduate venture financing class, I marketed laundry stain removers! Yours sounds like more fun.

Your survey pretty much asks the "good questions". I'd definitely recommend good Internet information, service, and support. You can really market to a wide audience through the Internet. Use "sound-bite" type ads in kayaking magazines to point people at your website. CLC, Pygmy, and Guillemot all do that--seems to be a good idea. Marketing your presence at sea kayaking symposiums wouldn't be a bad idea either.
