I wrapped the tube with saran wrap, then began laying up layers of glass and epoxy. When I pulled the tube out of the cured fiberglass, the longer the section, the tougher to pull it out. I did one about 7 feet long and had to grunt pretty hard. I think I may put a coat of light oil on the aluminum under the saran wrap next time.

I also think I am going to put 1/4-1/2 inch wide, long strips of 3mm plywood around the tube, then glass it for a paddle shaft.
