I didn't have anything fancier than my garage and an HVLP system for the application. It sure looks great and is so much tougher than the poly paints that don't have a hardener. If at all possible go for the spray on. I tried to get a shop to spray it on and the price was OUTRAGEOUS, so much so that buying a compressor and decent HVLP gun was a reasonable option. Good luck.
