I built a cedar strip Prospector Canoe a couple of years ago. It turned out just fine, however I recently noticed a small area (about a foot long by three strips high) where the yellow carpenters glue is seeping out between the strips and forming small beads of glue about every half inch. I can feel the "bead bumps" through the 6 ounce glass/epoxy...
Would this be from excesive heat (sunlight?) reconstituting the glue? I usually store my canoe outside against the north facing wall of my home. It gets the morning sun only and is always covered by a white tyvec-type (breathable) form-fitting cover.
Has anyone else had this problem or know why it occurs?
Thanks, George
