That's basically what I am doing, building new doors to replace the 60's knotty pine look, painting the whole thing white and puting them back on with European hinges. The big investment is the matched set of router bits to do the cope and stile and a raised panel bit.

Here is the Idea

On my next boat, I need to do is find someone out there who wants to build cabinets and has a set of bead and cove router bits. We can swap for a couple of months and pool our resources. I get to mill my own strips and someone else gets new kitchen doors. Better yet I'll throw in my Guillimot forms for a two router jig for doing cove and bead at the same time.

Anyone on this BBS want to take me up on this? I remember a thread a few months ago someone was talking about a leasing forms. Each person pays a fee to the designer and sends the forms on to the next person in line. The router bits work even better for this concept because they have a high initial cost but are used for a short period time to shape the strips. Over the course of the winter 4-5 people could share the cost of bits.

Start throwing in some high priced but specialized tools and maybe we got something here.
