Hi Don:

Yes, I have ripped strips on my 10" Rockwell Delta (older than dirt, I adopted it from my father-in-law). I ripped the strips that formed the wavy detail on my deck. The wiggleboard sections were only 6 ft long, and I did them freehand. I am not showing off, I just don't have a fence or the patience to rig one up. Plus, I felt I had more control without a fence. I also ripped the "strips" that comprised the laminations of my external stems. They are about 42"x1"x0.1".

My blade "wants" to cut at a particular angle that is _not_ perpendicular to the front edge of the table. I don't see this as a flaw, I just cooperate with the tool. The right blade is key, but also critical is feed rate.
