Hello Lee,
The braces are cut from a solid block of whatever wood you're working with and then sculpted by using rasps and sandpaper . This is then final fitted and epoxied to the coaming wall. You have to take care to get the feathering just right in order for it to look good - it needs to blend seamlessly into the coaming wall.
