I agree with Paul, I built a CLC Chesapeak 18 and the quality of the kit was good. If you live in an area where you have access to the materials you might consider building from plans. When I recieved my kit I realized how little time was saved and how much money would be saved by just cutting my own hull panels and rounding up the other materials locally. You will do your share of runs to the store for other stuff anyway. The knowledge gained by laying out your own panels will come in handy when you build your next boat - a stripper of course !
Either way, if you take your time, you will have a lot of fun, learn a few things along the way and a great boat to show for it, clc or pygmy. Flip a coin and get started.
